Centennial Celebration Shapes lip

SEA ISLE CITY - “The City Centennial Committee held its first public meeting last week, "with 25 persons attending and plans were made to have a "Super Centennial SaturdAy," including a giant parade, a fireworks demonstration, and events and open house colefcraflons all. summer long, and on up - ’til Christmas 1982. Former Chamber of Commerce President Mark Creighton noted that since the chamber has been inactive for some time, the funds in the treasury have been voluhteered to be used to defray costs of making copies of the hundreds of old photos that haVe been loaned to the Centennial Committee. He also presented a check to the Centennial Comthittee from his parents, who wanted to kick off the committee program with some funds. Creighton has volunteers to make copies of the photos. VINCE AND MARIE Myers, who have for the past eight yeai? run the highly successful "Skimmer Weekend” Flea Market, agreed to run the event for the Centennial. John DiGennis was named chairman of a "Block Party Eating Extravangza," with food booths to be set up on Kennedy Blvd., featuring the fobds of all nations. Mr. itad Mrs. Harry Berlinger announced that the Yacht Club will hold a fashion show, with models wearing the clothing of the past 100 years. Jean Rey, Harriet Reardon and Mrs. Coulter are presently working on updating the history of the

Frank Hennington of The Townsends Inlet Civic Association offered the cooperation and help of his group, and made the Civic center in Townsends Inlet available for Centennial events.
