Dutch country and the foursome visited Reading and the Leesport Fair while they were there. PAUL ft Marlon ScarlFlt have just returned from their annual fall visit to their daughters in the South. Ann Jordan and her daughter and two sons in Roanoke, Va. and Paula Kenworthy with her two boys*in Maryville, Tenn. Of course the grandchildren are growing up now. Two of the boys have jobs and the rest are in college so the Scarletts didn't see as much of them as they would have liked but they both looked refreshed and ready to dike up their civic Responsibilities. Stone Harbor. Marion Scarlett was in the Knit Wit Yarn Shop at the Wharf this week and told us that a heavily loaded truck was turned back at the entrance to the bridge. Most trucks carry CB radios so it won’t take long for the word to spread. • • • CHIEF DONOHUE was very pleased that Ptl. Steven O'Connor received a commendation for meritorious service on the recommendation of the' Awards Committee after consideration of his intelligence-gathering role as a member of the Cape May County Hostage Negoiation Unit while dealing with a barricaded gunman in Lower Township. Seems O'Connor’s quick action prevented what could have been a nasty incident without .injury or loss of 'life. • • • MARGUERITE Klotz* bur her |pok over the annual S.H. SHE WAS especially grateful to Doris Mitchell for baking all the delicious pies and Jean and Al Westhoff for selling tickets and the admissions desk. The theme was a hobo iparty and the following prizes were awarded: first Marcelle as a lady hobo, second Gene Fisher as an exceptionally funny old lady, and third to Jane & Carey Boss as Baf- Lady and friend. * • ; • THE SENIORS held their . regular business meeting on Wednesday, Nov. 4. That night the entertainment was provided by the choir of the Stone Harbor Elementary School. Under the capable and highly imaginative direction of Robin Ztibko, the kids gave us a foretaste of the Christmas season. There were no sokw. and members of the choir included BetlrJones'from the eighth grade; taura Harrison, Pam Meadowcroft, Katie Girgan, Mark Meadowcroft, James Musumeci, Chris Rice, Gwen Rich, Bill Bomberger, Jennie Sellers and John Spindler from fifth grade. —(Page 13 Please)
