LOWER TOWNSHIP -• At a -recent Township. Republican dinner, James Augustine was honored'for his.more than 25 years in the local Republican Party. He received a plaque from the Republican Organization naming him the dean 6f tovanship Republican

politics.

This is not his only activity in Lower Township. 'Since he sold his. business iruPhiladelphia and moved here iq 1950, he owned and managed Bavside Realty for 20 years. AUGUSTINE HAS always been active in local service organizations. s In 1952 he joined the Lower Township Chamber of Commerce and aft^r two years became thevptesident for three terms. During his presidency the Chamber realized its largest membership. He was instrumental .in starting Little League Baseball in the Villas, and' then went on to start the Lower Township Little League, where he served as President. He was active in Midget Football and Jtasketball for 10-12 years i/ and was instrumental ih starting, the Cape May County Midget Football

and Basketball leagues. He is an active member of the Baytown Kiwanis Club, Moose Lodge, and has’ been active in the Lower Township Republican Party for the past.26 years. He served as president foe three years. He started the Millman Recreation Center and again served three-terms as president. He.also opened Villas Manor Lake and serves as chairman of the Lower Township Lighting Commission and Fire Commission
