WILDWOOD'S 'jay Barnes, owner of Cape May's Gloria, has acquired one of Philly's leading restauranteurs to operate Gloria next season. Jay will continue to operate the Gloria Saloon. More on this anon. LOU .DELCONTE’s Crest Tavern,has changed hands The new owners are Tommy Himes. John Curran and Lillian Gerhart. Himes, who lives in Stone Harbor, formerly managed Phil Matalucci's Avalon's bistros. The past few seasons he has guided the Playpen nitery at Diamond Beach. Himes also-oxyned an Asbury Park nidht club and managed North Jersey Clubs. # ^ x MOST RESIDENTS recall the many Joe Cavalier revues presented by Sylvan Rosenfeld and Joe Stamile at the Hurricane East. Joe is currently starred in his Viva Las Girls reveueat the Chateau Madrid, N Y. Varl^y gave the show a good revue comparing it to Las Vegas-type entertainment

. THE LATE Mayor Harry Steele. Jr. Pioneered use of outdoor phone booths on the Boardwalk long before other resorts would permit them. Now partly due to winter Vandalism. Ma Bell is removing the doors to the booths since so many are bent and battered. Very handy are the blue phones 4 ! which may be used without coins for credit card and
collect calls.
Boardwalk businessmen who leave fluorescent tubes in place to be smashed by vandals are performing a disservice as the tube contents are poisonous. BOARDWALK superintendents have been having a field day watching the dismantling and clearing of the burned portion of
Morey's Mariner’s Landing pier. The site is now neat as a pin and ready for
new construction. • /
