prints. His late father was the developer of the Wildwood Gables section. • • • LOCAL businessmen, ap.parently aware that 11 million visitors are slated to be siphoned off by the World’s Fair in Knoxville during the summer of 1962, *eem to be stepping up advertising for the new year. Cpt. Gene "Scoop" Taylor reports unusual cooperation in donating monies for the visit of a 20-man Wildwood Lifequard squad to Hollywood, Fla. for the Christmas week seaboard competition. ED ZABERER of the Anglesea Inn not only made a substantial donation but is completely outfitting the squad in natty uniforms. Within 24 hours of a mailing, "Scoop” reported Hfe had received good donations from such businesses as Urie’s Fish Fry, Hunt's Enterprises, Ingersoll and Joe Barne's Fun Pier. Everyday folks scooped up scads of five dollar benefit tickets. • • • NORTH WILDWOOD Beach Cove Motel owner Jack Hallett, who has appeared in over 150 tv commercials, is appearing on Broadway in The First. musical about Jackie Robinson's break-through into big league baseball. However, the show rajj into critical flak and is not expected to have a long run^or regain its financial vestment. Four tv station critics were favorable to the show but the press critics were unfavorable.

holding a Holiday Branch, 11 a.m. Sunday at the Lodge in Anglesea. Call 728-4028 for ticket info NEARLY 600 signatures were collected on petitions in Wildwood Crest Seeking a free beach ordinance. The signers felt they had been cheated out of the chance to even express themselves on beach fees and its resultant economic impact. Whether Wildwood or the Crest, the mere mention of beach fees seems enough to stir the natives out of their off-season blahs. • • • AN ISLAND behive of activity is Wildwood Linen Supply where 100 employees are kept busy processing laundry for a tri-county area including the Caesars Boardwalk Recency and Claridge HiHo casino-hotels and the Atlantic Ofty Medical Center. Itifact, business from Atlantic-City is brisk enough to justify the operation of a deport facility in that resort for half of the year. 0 \ . Wildwood Linen Supply also does the laundry for Millville Hospital. It serves as one example of the casino spin-off dollars that are reaching the Cape May County labor market. OTHER SPIN-OFF dollars from Atlantic City that affect the whole state and don’t remain in casino city include the 100 per cent increase in Atlantic City Expressway traffic and increases in parkway tolls and ferryliner traffic. Like Wildwood and the other resorts, nobody really spends the time to talk about the sales tax that's generated out of the resorts like Atlantic City. . The amounts are so substantial that Mayor Guy Muxiani, . the

Assemblyman-elect, has never been able to obtain an accounting from the state. If the seashore sales

tax collections were revealed, it would be a valuable lever to obtain much needed state aid
