IT’S NO secret to anyone that Alexandra and John Kokonos of 119th St have a beautiful daughter Mary, who works at Children s Hospital in Philadelphia. . What we didn't know is that Mary is also a culinary artist. This year she created two gingerbread houses, one for her .family and another for two friends she loves, Jane and Ensslen parents of Rick Ensslen of Fort Washington but who have their summer home in Avalon! The houses are little masterpieces, like an illustration from a fairytale. The walls are gingerbread with four towers made of stacked cookies topped with ice cream cones covered with Coconut and capped with cherries. The windows and doors are outlined with red icing.and the crenefations are formed by tiny multi-colored candies. The pillars are small candy canes.

It took Mary three hours to make the houses, the walls of which are stuck together with confectioner’s sugar. We asked Alexandra how sbe could ever bear to eat such a work of art and she said, characteristically, "Oh. I don’t think we will, I think we’ll get Mary to take it to the children at the
hospital."
One thing you may not know about Alexandra is that she has gone back to school and says the going is rough. Not content with having her Emergency Medical Training degree she is now taking the Paramedical course. There is just nothing this gal won’t
