by M'Ellen Rowland BURLEIGH - Some 200 members of the Stone Har- . bor Chamber’of Commerce bid farewell to retiring Mayor James Wood during an emotion-filled Christmas'dinner meeting last week at the Wildwood Golf and Country Club here. In recognition of his many years of service to the borough and to the Chamber, of which he is a longtime member, the retiring mayor was given a pewter plate, designed by resident Catherine Letsche. commemorating Stone Harbor. The presentation was made by outgoing Chamber president Glenn Townley 1 , who himself is stepping down from a five-year presidency. The Woods plan to now make fuller use of the Florida condominium they purchased seven years ago. Borough Council president Arden Hand will succeed Wood as mayor Jan. 1, and during an interview he said he was honored by his colleagues.
