COURT HOUSE - On Jan 16. dancers will compete for pfizes and pledges at a 12-hour dance-a-thon at the American legion Hall here The, contest is sponsored by Lancers Two Inc. and will benefit the Menlo Park Veterans.Hospital. Instructor.* Nancy Gibson says. • We chose the hospital since the American legion decided to donate fun<^ to provide new equipment, and we always try to help them with their major project if we can. V' ANDY VOLVO, disc jockey from WOND radio will provide music from 9 am to 9 pm and dinner, will be served to all contestants still danci’hg at the dinner hour. % Door prizes will be awarded . to dancers throughout the day. and there will be cash awards for the three contestants who complete the 12 hour dance a>tnon and have the' highest amount of pledges in support of the project. All young people who would like to dance to the music, test their stamina, and help raise money for the Veterans at Menlo Park are invited to participate. DENNISVlLLE - Both the Dennisville volunteer Fire Co. and the Ladies Auxiliary elected new presidents and officers for . I9H2 at their recent annual election meetings. William Robinson was efected president of the fire company, succeeding Howard Babbitt who chose not to seek re-election. James Grimes was reelpcted vice preisdent as was recording secretary John Champion, treasurer Arthur Lathers Jr corresponding secretary Keith Strain and Chief Rod Kohler JOYCE. BREWER was, • elected president of the auxiliary, succeeding Judy Jones who did not seek reelection Rosie Robinson was re-elected vice president. Margi* Lathers, treasurer. Suzanne Jenkins corresponding secretary and Denise LaBov recording secretary. The two fire organiza-. (ions will continue their cooperation and special projects will be conducted this year to raise funds and observr? the 35th anniversary of the fire company. The fire company and auxiliary serves the communities of Dennisville, South Dennis and North Dennis The fire company meets the first Monday of each month and the ladies auxiliary meets the second Thursday of the month Area residents served by the company are invited to attend the meetings
