Earns $538,710 TUCKAHOE Ur Upper Township Treasurer Pat Zimmerman reported that the township earned $538,710.55 in interest on un-used funds during the year 1981, up $24,000.00 over 1980. “This is the largest amount of interest ever earned on township funds,” Zimmerman stated. Zimmerman noted that all township funds are invested in short term certificates and accounts until those funds are needed by the township.

Jobless Benefits Extended
TRENTON - New Jersey Commissioner of Labor Roger A. Bodman has announced that an unemployment insurance extended benefits period has triggered on as of Feb. 24 and that local claims offices will start taking claims March 1. Postcard notices are being sent to claimants who had filed initial regular unemployment benefit claims -on or after March 2,1981 and who have collected their full entitlement under those claims, Bodman said. He added, however, that irfdividuais who do not receive a notification and who believe they may be eligible should report to their local offices if they are still unemployed. PAYMENTS UNDER the extended benefits program came to a halt last July when the rate fell below five percent. The program triggered on
again when the rate went above five percent for the 13-week period ending Feb 13. The program will remain active for at least
13 weeks.

It w(|| be considered suitable if it is within the claima'nt's capabilities to perform the job and if the pay is not less than minimum wage>($3.35 per hour) and higher than the claimants weekly benefit amount. , i ' Claimants are instructed to report on their regular reporting day at the time listed on the postcard notice with the assurance that the claim will be predated to the beginning of the week.
