seminars in the past He believes that the people of 'Middle Township and Cape May County should be. jgiven the opportunity to express their feelings about whaf he -termed an ‘‘outrageous increase" in electric rates. •'WE ARE FAST approaching the point of no return, and if we continue to allow the electric company and the BPU to raise our electric rates at will, we wilKSbon be signing

over our weekly {wycheck to the electric omptfny. I wanf to get the BPU here in Gape May County and tell them Just how we feel and what's on our mind." Mr. Leusper is interested in. determining .why the BPU {>ern)its discount electrical rates in the form of Time-of-Day Meters to other utility customers in New Jersey but denies it to Atlantic ElectVic customers Moreover, he wants to know why a $172 fnillion rale increase is needed when, he maintains, customers were pro-

mosed stabilized rates when Salem I and Salem 11 Nuclpar Units' went on line? ••! THINK the whole thing stinks, and I plan to request the help of Assenjblyman Guy Muziani and Congressman Bill Hughes in holding this Hearing in ■ Middle Township "This time we are not going to be fooled into thinking we have to go to Atlantic City or Newark to protest a .rate* increase which affwts us in Cape May County," Mr.Ueusner said.

Reason To Beef

WASHINGTON, D C - CongressmaivBill Hoghes

(D-NJ) pas sharply will criticized ajproposai by the for: U.S. ibepartment of .Ci

Agriculture to- change the classificafions for beef sold

in supermarkeLs.

Hoghes said the new regulations wduld result in consumers paying higher prices for beef, and receiving a lower quality product

for their money.

•THIS PROPOSAL is a lot of bull," Hughes staled. "There is nt/ reason why consumers should pay top dollar for beef that is nof top quality. These new standards would lower the quality of acceptable beef without giving consumers any price reductions." ffie proposal under consideration by the Department of Agriculture would expand the quality range of each grade of beef. Some of the beef that is now marketed as "choice." quality would be called "prime"- under the new grading system, and r. significant amount of what is now called "good" would be pushed up into the

"choice" category.

THE NET RESULT of these regulations, Hughes said, is that lower quality beef could be sold at "/choice" and "prime" prices, giving, consumers less for their money at the

checkout counter.

Hughes said he plans'to submit a formal statement to the. Department of Agriculture opposing the new grading system. The department is currently accepting public comments

on the regulations until March 31, after which it I review' the comments s
