people.

Ed and Mary Moore are an elderly retired couple who have devoted most of their lives helping other people. For the past 50 years they have been supplying toys and dolls to needy ' families at Christmas. THIS PAST Christmas they gave out gifts for 800 kids. Moore, "Pappi" as he is affectionately known, repairs dolls and toys, while Mrs. Moore. % known as Mimi, makes dresses from scraps of materials. The Moores also collect damaged merchandise from area stores and . repair clothing, donating it to needv families in the area. They also pick up non-saleable food items from area stores and distribute the food to the needy.£d and Mary Moore live on a small Social Security pension and are poor themselves, but many times they take part of their Social Security In-

In th^ mesh time Mrs. Moore recently repaired several pairs of defective jeans and some poor children can now'attend school again because they Have a pair of jeans to wear. The Moores will‘attend KYW-TV’s Awards Banquet March 13. at the Barclay Hotel, \nS Philadelphia. Officials will ‘ escort Mr. and Mrs. Moore to the awards banquet at which time five top winneirs will be announced and have iheir stories told on Even-, ing Magazine programs in May.
