Heating Aid Extended
The deadline for applying for Home Energy Assistance benefits has been extended to April 30 because the federal government has awarded additional funding. 1st Savings Promotions SEA 'ISLE CITY - Harold J. Abrams, chairman of the board of First Savings and Loan Association here, has announced the appointment of . operating officers for 1982. Abrams named Linda L. Brown as president, Kenneth L. Whitlock as finjt vice president and secretary and Lynne Yanucci as assistant secretary;treasurer and head teller. Mrs. Brbwn has been with the association for 11 years and was First vice president jmd treasurer. Whitlock has been with the association for seven years and was formerly second vice president and secretary. Yanucci has been with the,association for two years and began as a teller. DIRECTORS FOR 1982 are- Mark Creighton, vice chairman of' the Board, Gamaliel Broadley, Albert Kohler, Carl Lovejoy, Elmer Reed, Prank Myhre, John Dogliotti, G.B. Libro Sr., and Joel Robinson. Abrams noted that 1981 again reflected the excellent financial stability of the association in that it increased net worth and recorded a profit. Distribution of dividends reached an all time high of $1,539,475.50.
The state Department of Human Service had anticipated that most of the^ original funds would have been spent by March but will continue the program for those low-income people who have not yet applied. UNDER THE HEA income guidelines an individual cannot have more than $449 a month in gross incdme and still receive benefits. Other maximum income levels are: $593 for a family of two; $737 for a family of three; $880 for a family of four; $1024 for a family of five; and $l,168for a family of six. SPECIAL arrangements have betn made to allow senior citizens and the disabled to^omplete their applications at .^ome and mail them directly to the county welfare agency. Extra applications are also available for the elderly at county offices on aging. In addition to heating assistance, th? program also provides for the essential emergency repair of furnaces and other heating uni» as well as medicallyneeded cooling assistance. New Jersey residents interested in the program should contact their county welfare agency or call 800-792-9773. Adult Dance CAPE MAY - The city will sponsor ajdance for adults 8-11 p.m. FriHgy, March 26, in Convjention Hall.
