"My suggestion was that anything above 65 ft should be completely sprinkled,” Spencer ’said, noting however, that township building inspeetbr Obie Fowler doesn't think this is "practical." TOWN BANK FIRE Commissioner — and professional planner — Dew Conley, told the board that it's necessary for the local zoning ordinance to specifically state development requirements — • including those dealing with fire prevention measures He emphasized that by law a property owner is entitled to get as much • use out of his property as is permitted in the local zoning plan "If. yob don’t lay the ground work and the alternatives we (professional planners) have to work with — we have no choice but to'give our client what they want," he said. HAVE Y{A) HAD a chance to observe Sheer Bros. Inc. replacing the outworn sewer system ih Stone Harbor? The outerspace bleeping sound first attracted us to the site of 85th and 3rd Ave. The sophisticated equipment and expertise of the Workers kept us glued to the job of sidewalk superintendents. Wayne Shawl, boss man of the operation, explained that the old system had been constructed of short links of - terra cotta' pipO with ✓loose fittings which alloyed the \ intrusion of ground water and sand into the conduit and taxpayers were paying for the disposal oLthis additional sewage. F HE DEItiONSTRATED how the use of the Lazer beam indicated the grdde, or slope, and aided \ in realignment when replacing the terra cotta sections with longer links of PVC (plastic to the 'aymen) tightly coupled, without interruption of service to residents. He even allowed us to feel the inside of the links (smoother than a baby's skin) which would speed th6 process of disposal. They are also replacing the terra cotta or lead pipes into homes where necessary (cast iron pipes don’t need replacement). IN AN EARLIER Column we told you how pleased wfe are with our kerosene heater and a friend who had read it told us she was So pleased with hers she had bought three of.them. Said she: "Great but don’t you find yourself awfully dehydrated?" ' Our gal friend replied "Oh no, I just keep pans of water on each/of them.” Our spouse ablest went in-
