Agreement Paves Way fdr Development

, DIAMOND BEACH - The Lower Twp. Zoning Board Of Adjustment March 2 conditionally approved a used variance allowing 'th#RlVildwood Water Utility Tl plant a recharge well here to serve upwards of 1.300 units proposed for the Diamond Beach area. the well.

ACTION ON granting the variance has been delayed some six months while township officials and the Wildwood. utility worked out an agreement that formally brings the Diamond Beach area into the utility's service area. According to Zoning, chairman Robert Smeltzer, "both the township and the utility will gain from the' agreement." He noted the

Smeltzer indicated last week that he is extremely satisfied with the agreement, and stressed that the two should be commended for their ability to working collectively to reach an agreement that serves the best interest of both. The request for the recharge well was made by Ciampitti so that an agree'ment with Bamess Corp. of Warrington, Pa., could be completed. Barness intends to construct some 263 condominiums in the area.
