DUS CREEK; - The local Mr. and Mr^Santa Claus, 'Edward and Mary Moore, have been chostin among the moat "extraordinary” people in the Delaware VaUey. They were among 14 nominations made to the County Chamber of Commerce in KYW-TV i’s* Evening Magazine Search for Exteaordinary People. Their story will be aired on Evening Magazine 7 p.tn. May 6. FINALISTS IN the con-, test werd feted at an awards ' banquet ip Philadelphia after selection by a panel of five media experts who interviewed them. . County Chamber officials who escorted the Moores to the banquet were Mr. and Mrs. Theodore Roman, Mr. and Mrs. Carl urn Qwen, and Mr. and Mrt. Robert Patterson Jr. ED. 81, AND Mary 79, affectionately known as Pap-
pi and Mimi, have played Santa Claus for 52 years to thousands of families who faced* a Christmas with no toys for their children. This past Christmas, the Moores provided toys and dolls for over 800 poor families. Papi repairs the dolls and toys donated Jo the Moores and Mimi 'washes the dolls, snam'poce their hair, an^ makes a complete new outfit for each. ' Mimi has worn out five sewing machines over the years making doll clothes. • THE MOORES have two chi)<fren, 14 grandchildren, and - 19 greatgrandchildren. When the Moores, who live on Social Security, aren’t busy fbdng v toys for Christmas they are out picking up clothing and food from area merchants and residents to distribute to needy families. Both wish that ihey might have another 52 years to hnng^amiles tb poor children af Christmas.
