THE JAM continue to be England's most popular group, and, while they are making | headway, in the States, thing.«f still aren’t very bright for them on our shores, However The Gift (Polydfcr) should help to change all that. This new record by-The Jam is another collection of awesome numbers written and performed with passion and drive. The Jam use a foundation of early - Who and K'inks, yet the end result is as contemporary as, anything else on today's* music scene. Not a bad track on this album, and several, including Town Called Malice, Precious, • and Just Who Is The 5 O'clock Hero <should find airplay. The Jam are showing no signs of lettingpp and this record; along with* their forthcoming American tour, should make more people aware of their fine music. ELEKTRA RECORDS has set up a jazz subsidiary label called Musician and their first batch of releases are quite impressive. One of the best, though, is the reissue pf the classic My Goals FWynnd by John McLaughlin. Known primarily for his
electric work, this all acoustic album by McLaughlin is a must for any fan of the guitar. The pieces are very visual, as McLaughlin is a colorful, emotional musican. This reissue is also quite timely as John McLaughlin is playiqg more acoustic guitar than elbctric, these days, and it's nice to hear him in this early stage of his career.

COURT HOUSE - As the weather improves and winterworn souls contemplate Spring and warmer, longer days, Burdette Tomlin Hospital and the American Hospital Asso. have some helpful hints to offer: AT THIS TIME of year, many organizations are having fund drives. Among these are those who help send handicapped children to camps that will meet their specific needs. Such! camps, located in almost every part of the country, include those designed for diabetics, epileptics^ hempphiliacs, asthma victims as well as for those with physical and mental handicaps. Local organizations like the American, Diabetes Association, Red Cross, and National Epilepsy Foundation can furnish a guide to these special camps. AS CHILDREN venture forth in the outdoors, make sure thoy’re aware of potential dog bite^ the family pet may become/ vicious due to Illness orprovocation. Bites about the neck, face and head are particularly dangerous; Instruct children not to tease pets and obtain immediate medical attention if bitten. Also, the incident sbobjd be - —reported to the police. HELPFUL HINT three concerns 'teeth. If your child loses a permanent ■tooth in an accident, don't give it up. Keep the broken tooth moilst and safe uptil you get the child to the den- ’ list. Place, the tooth- in a glass of milk. If milk isri’t available a glass of water or a wet towel are good altemaflves; best is putting the tooth under the tongue. * Don’t clean . <he tooth, since that cbuld damage the microscopic, fibers which allow the tooth to reattach. Onoe back and healed, the tooth should work well for years.
