Station management kept the telethon on the air an extra hour to make up for lost air time after auto accidents cut power io the station. gATURD^Y'S 12-hour event featured performances by tnahy area talents. The county 4-H queen and local models kept the tote board Current as pledges were phoned in. County officials, local mayors, doctors, student nurses and other volunteers manned the phones. According to local unit president Eleanor Garretson, of Erma, 80 per cent of the funds raised will remain in county, with the balance aiding cancer research in New Jersey. She and telethon chair-' man, former Ocean City mayor Tom Waldman, ; thanked all who worked and contributed to the success of this year’s efforts.

Young Blood Collections,

100-Plus % COURT HOUSE - Two recent high school blood visits by the County Chapter, American Red Cross, resulted in effective collection of 100 percent or better, it was reported by Mrs. Gertrude D. Yesgosh, executive director.- ' At Lower Cape May Regional High, with a goal of 125 donors, 153 presented themselves of whom 133 were accepted, including 77 first-time donors, for a collection of 104'percent. AT OCEAN CITY High School, with 100 as goal, 111 •offered to donate, 100 were accepted, of whom 76 were first-time donors, for a collection of 10& percent. At Wildwood High School, with a goal of 75, 86 there were volunteers, of whom 70 were accepted, including 41 first-time donors, for a collection rate of 93 percent. At Wildwood Catholid High School, with 75.as goal, 77 presented themselves, 65 were accepted, including 35 first.Ume donors, for an 86.6 /percent collection. A blood visit will be made to the Lutheran Parish Hall, 9217 3rd Ave., Stone Harbor, 1:30-6:30 p.m. April 20:
