Champagne Fling Slated RIO GRANDE - The County Unit of the American Cancer Society will celebrate the 11th Annual Champagne Fling Sunday, Sunday May 23, at the Golden Inn, Avalon. Highlight of the day will • be an auction featuring over 80 unusual donated items. Champagne and hors d’oeuvres will be served throughout the afternoon. On a current tour throughout the United States, The Fairchilds’ show will be presented at the U.S. Coast Guard training Center and then for the public under the sponsorship of the Cape May Kiwanis May 8. PTA To Hold Spring Fair N. CAPE MAY - The Lower Township PTA will hold its annual Spring Fair 11 a.m.-4 p.m. May 8 at the Consolidated School, Seashore Rd. here. Lunch will be available and there will be many booths and games. Proceeds will be used to buy additional equipment for the school.

CAPE MAY - The County Art League, located in the Carriage House of the Physick Estate, 1050 Washington St., schedule of activities for May: The opening reception for a two-man show, the work of John Rutherford Jr. and Dr. Norman Rutt will be 7:30 p.m. Cape May resident Thomas Carroll will give a lecture on Picturesque 19th Century Architecture 8 p.m.. Tuesday, May II. WALDMAR PDCH will speak on his mahy travels to Russia 8 p.m. Tuesday, May 18. Saturday, May 22, the League will present one of their free film evenings, 6,000 Years of Chinese Art and Culture.
