School Board Reorganizes

Top $816,000 New Jersey Bell paid $816,005 in real estate and personal property taxes in Cape May County last year, according to Robert Davenport, the company's loCal community relations manager. The company also is one of the state's largest taxpayers, said Davenport, having paid more than $134 million in taxes throughout New Jersey in 1981. The total includes some $42.8 million in Franchise and gross receipts taxes paid directly to the State of New Jersey. ■Hiring AidCOURT HOUSE - The guidance office at Middle ToWnship High School will assist employers find qualified students for part-time, summer, or full-time employment. Students can be referred to interested employers, or employers can use facilities at the high school to interview. Anyone interested in hiring a local student should call 465-9411 extension 310. $16,500 for Crass CAPE MAY - The Coast Guard Training Center here has awarded a contract for grass mowing at the center to Pine Lake Nursery of Court House at a cost of $16,500.

AVALON -i- The reorganization meeting of the Board of Education was held recently, with Nancy Hudanich taking over as president. Other officers are: John Sideravage, vice president; and board members Brian Campbell, Carman Scarpa and William K. Soens. Hilda Klosterman is board secretary.

Monthly meetings will be held at 7 p.m. the first Wednesday of the month in the Board Room Trailer at the Elementary School, May 5, June 2, July 7, Aug. 4, Sept. 1, Oct. 6, Nov. 3, Dec. 1, Jan. 5, Feb. 2, March 3, and April 6.

Traffic Drop For Ferry CAPE MAV - during March, traffic on the Cape May — Lewes Ferry decreased by 210 vehicles and decreased by 801 passengers from March. 1981, according to David S. Chapman, general manager. For the 12-month period ended March 31. there was an increase of 16,551 or 6.99' percent for vehicles and 62,084 or 8.73 percent for passengers.
