The week’s activities and the voting are being c^ ordinated through the efforts of the Lower Township and Cape May Chamber of Commerces Lower Elementary Superintendent Edward Campbell is Youth Week Coordinator. STUDENT COUNCIL sponsor^ Rick Ferrante and Thomas Maletto. both sixth grade teachers at the school, explained the intricies of the voting machines to each class as they lined to exercise their franchise. "It’s important that you read all the names for each office before making your choice," cautioned Ferrante to a voting bloc from

the sixth grade. Each class was also shown how to press the lever beside their choice and was instructed on how to open and close the curtains that assure voting booth privacy. PRIOR TO entering the voting booth each potential voter was required to register with the election board secretary. Sherri

Sheppard, who kept careful records of each class's voting. For most of the students the election gave them their first look at a voting booth. "When you are 18 and go to vote for president, senator, mayor or anything this is how you will do it,"-Maletto told the youngsters.
