Rossow. First copies of the book were presented to Mayor Arden Hand and officers of the chamber at the April dinner meeting. ROSSOW SAID this year’s 84-page issue is the largest ever published by the chamber. Activities listed include: The traditional Memorial Day Parade and ceremony by the Stephen Ludlam American Legion Post and Auxiliary, Monday. May* 31. Floral wreaths donatea by civic groups will be carried to a lifeboat and dropped into the sea two miles off shore in memory of those who gave their lives for their country. ON JUNE II the borough recreation staff will start preparing the athletic fields and basketball courts for a busy season. They will also start accepting tennis membership and reservations. THE CHAMBER and the borough will sponsor an allI day Independence Day program Monday, July 5. | Games for all ages and for male and female will be held at the athletic field in • the morning with the Home I Run Derby and sandcastle building contests in the afternoon. The Yacht Club will have its Parade of the Fleet and Sailing Regatta in July. It will also hold the annual invitational marlin fishing tournament in August. TWO BIG DAYS under a tent at the athletic field, 81st and First Ave. are planned. The 13th Annual Art Show will be held Aug. 7 and the 2nd Craftman’s Show Aug. 8. The Women’s Civic Club has scheduled an Antique Show and Sale July 6,7 and 8 in the School building. The Coronation of Little Miss Stone Harbor will take place in the school Friday July 23. The annual Fashion Show and Lunch is slated for Aug. 4, to be followed Aug. 15 with a special benefit cocktail party for the Lions Club. A local Art Show for area artists will be held at the Civic club 11 a.m.-4:30p.m. Saturday, Sept. 5. The Garden Club will sponsor the annual Hydrangea Festival in July and the Rescue Squad's annual Chicken Barbeques will be held 4 p m. July 10 and Aug. 14 on the athletic field, 81st and Second Ave. Details or any lat minute changes of dates, times or places for these community events will be posted in
