The committee is anxious to honor all war dead with Crest affiliations so they will not actually commission a plaque for one year so that relatives may contact them, with names they may have missed. Among those to be honored is a member of the island's piooneer Baker family, Katherine Baker, who was a World War I nurse. Serving on the committee is Dorit Cummings. Her late father, E.Z. Fox, inspired and -created the mini-checkerboard square parks still visible in center island Wildwood. Fox' always felt people couldn’t spehd all their time on the bea<!h and waterways and needed park areas sprinkled throughout the community. ••• THE LATEST additibn to the island’s growing number of female lifeguards is Janet fwully who will hanole the chore at the Quarterdeck Motel. BE SURE TO turn out for Boardwalk parade on Sunday, May 16th at 6:30 p.m. of the National Music Festival. Bands from all over the U.S. A. and Canada will march from 16th Ave. south to Rio Grande Ave. With flags waving smartly in the breeze, the smartly costumed bands and color guards are a joy to behold. Although there are plenty of boardwalk benches, you may want to bring along your own portable seating. Pleae encourage these talented youngsters with applause. Give them the sort of welcome you j would want youi* youngsters to receive when hundreds or thousands of miles away from home. PARENTS concerned with drug or -alcohol problems should give every bit of encouragement possible to these young folks who get "high” from music! On Monday afternoon, the bands will enjoy the famed Sunshine Express in concert at Convention Hall. In previous years in Wildwood, their guest concert artists have included the Hudson Brothers and Maynard Ferguson. ••• STRING BAND of Wildwood will make their first parade appearance in Sea Isle City.
