CAPE MAY - A Flag Day observaneb, highlighted by a unison recitation of the Pledge of Allegiance, is being planned here Monday. June 14. The recitation' will take place at 4 p.m. at the American Legion's Harry Snyder Post 193 Home. 405 Congress St. Cmdr. John T. Dollinger has invited all area citizens to.participate. ”IT TAKES but a few seconds to recite those 31 words to the Pledge of Allegiance." Dollinger said. "Let’s join in this expression of national unity on Flag Day." Cmdr. Dollinger also
urged everyone to display the American Flag at their homes and v places of business on Ohat day.' The unison recitation of the pledge is part of a kiation-wide ceremony begun two years ago at Fort McHenry, Baltimore. Md. where the sight of the flag in the "rockets' red glare" inspired Francis Scott Key to pen the words of the national anthem.
