SSI Ch ecks To Go Up Centennial Book Ad Deadline Sat.

WILDWOOD - Most recipients of Supplemental Security Income (SSI) in New Jersey will receive a cost-of-living increase in their checks July 1, Delton Brooks, manager of the local Social Security office, said. The payments will increase for most people as a result of automatic cost of living increases built into the law. AN INDIVIDUAL living alone or wfth others in New Jersey who was receiving the maximum SSI benifit of $289.70 a month will now get $309.30 and a couple who received $416.00 a month will now get $445.50 beginning with the July 1, check. Un'der the law the Federal share of SSI checks increases

automatically each year i? Consumer Price Index (CPD rises by 3 percent or more over specified measuring periods. The state share of the SSI check was also increased due to the higher cost of livihg. Under this provision the Federal share was increased by 7.4 percent. Brooks says that there are currently 84,192 people in New Jersey receiving SSI payments, and in Cape May County over 1,100 receive a mortthy SSI

check.

SEA ISLE CITY - The Centennial Souvenir Book will set . June 30 as the deadline for all advertising

and copy.

The Official Centennial Book will contain a history of the City in both words and pictures and will be printed on a glossy paper,

bound as a permanent paperback book. Any profits from the book will go toward the establishment of a Sea Islb City Historical Museum. Those wishing to; place an advertisement, should contact the Centennial Committee at City Hall. 263-4461.
