County's Only Hospital Approaches New Era

By Joseph Schaad Jr. ^ COURT HOUSE - As Cape ■ May County’s only hospital prepared for another hectic summer, an air of unprecedented optimism and excitement prevails for its staff and the many thousands of residents and visitors who come in contact with the facility each year.

Founded 30 years ago, the Burdette Tomlin Memorial Hospital is in the midst of the biggest fund drive and expansion and modernization program in its history. Much of the groundwork and some of the fund raising have occurred since last autumn. Recently, however, the results of those efforts became visible when
