Police Chiefs lo'Meet

CAPE MAY - The New Jersey Assoc, of Chiefs of Police will meet in conference for four days. June 28 thru July 1. at the Golden Eagle Inn here. Monday’s workshop session will begin with a presentation by State Attorney General Irwin I. Kimmelman on the Direction of Law Enforcement in the 80s Other topics include New Jersey’s Prison System/Early Release of Inmates, and Drinking/Driving. Following Mr. Kimmelman's presentation, Deputy Attorney General Steven J. Madonna, Chief of Environmental Prosecutions Task Force, will discuss the role of the local police department in hazardous waste enforcement. THE WORKSHOP session on Monday concludes with Commissioner Bernard G. Pelt*. New Jersey Police Training Commission, and Prof. Stanley F.

Ehrlich. Somerset County College, addressing the group on the topic of •'Police Chiefs Management Program at Community Colleges." Limit CAPE MAY - An antinoise ordinance, designed to keep loud music and other sounds off the streets of Cape May, was introduced Monday night at a meeting of the city council. The ordinance prohibits loud noises that are "plainly audible" at a distance of SO feet from the building from which they emanate. It describes noise as sounds coming from radios, phonographs, hi-fi and stereo sets, television, musical instruments "or any other sound producing instrument."
