He was an early proponent of light tackle^ishing. and I can still remember seeing him feed an eel to a white from the bridge of Ihe Wayfarer. He was ‘fishing it "down the alley.'’ and he kept dropping it back to that white marlin

June 22 Prank Carlin of Collingdale. Pa. won the pool with a 4 lb flounder. NOW I D LIKE to get on with the tale about our recent trip to Hatteras. John Fisher. Bill Halbruner, Joe Halbrune, Frank Hineline, and I ran into a rough day on the grounds, but we still had a real good trip. When we arived. Cpt. "Willie" Foster said. "We caught your 481 pound blue marlin last week." and that turned

and later on a board which yielded a dolphin - by keeping him in the water, and throwing bait behind the fish we finally got 28 of those beauties. John Fisher quit at five dolphin, and Bill. Frank, and I caught the rest, but I’m not going to guess at how many any of us caught, because it wbs pretty frenzied. 'About 2:30 Joe Halbruner’s line went out of the snap, after a white marlin had shredded my bait, and in about 10 minutes Joe had a 15 lb. king mackerel to the boat which mate Chris gaffed. We had just passed a giant sunfish with six sharks at-

tacking a school of bonito on top of it when the alternator threw a belt, and we were left with one engine, which was all she wrote for that fishing trip. It was a thrill being back o^the Albatross II with the ew generation of Hatteras skippers. Cpt. Ernie Foster kept in touch with us all the way home by radio. The next morning we got up early to go home, and Frank Hineline and I snuck bff from the bunch to go down to the dock, and view first hand the new Jersey Devil. She’s a 70 ft. Buddy Davis boat, and one of the best outfitted canyon boats I’ve seen yet.

when the port outrigger snapped out. After about 20 minutes play Frank Hineline had a nice yellowfin tuna up to the stern, and at 10:15 Cpt. Willie came off the bridge and helped his new mate ••Chris" Biogni learn something. He gaffed Frank’s fish as only Willie can. and then went back on the controls. It weighed between 40 & 50 pounds. A WAHOO THEN, chopped off one of the Balao baits, and at ,1:45 Cpt. "Willie" found a weed line;
