By Floiynce Heal Last summer I discussed rather fully giving varities. as well as recipes for blueberries, apples and peaches which were the next three exhibits in the food tour exhibit tent This year the new idea from these exhibits was the new “BrikPak" products which have been available on the market for the last six months Among the new ' Brik Pak” products on the market are the Ocean Spray CranApple and the Apple & Eve apple juice The “Brik Pak” or the juice box. as it is sometimes called, is the most meaningful retail packaging breakthrough of the decade The juice box needs no refrigeration It is lightweight, easy to open, disposable Aseptic cold pack process makes for fresher product It is a handy package for school lunches and traveling In a year or two juice box tfill find its way into many homes in America • The peach crop in New Jersey is estimated to be about 65-75' of the normal production due to the coldest January since 1934 and for the early April freeze. LAZY DAY tHJFF 1/4 Cup butter "or margarine J Cup flour 3 teaspoon baking powder /ft teaspoon salt M2 Cup sugar 2/3 Cup milk • peaches 'Melt butter or margarine in 8” square bak ing pan Sift together flour, baking powder, salt and sugar Gradually add

milk and blend, but do not beat vigorously Spoon batter onto melted butter Arrange peeled and sliced peaches on top of batter Bake 35 minutes in 375°. oven. Cool 30 minutes, then cover with aluminurh foil to keep moist

FRESH BLUEBERRY OR PEACH UPSIDE-DOWN CAKE 1/2 Cup butter 1 Cup brown suftar 2 Cups fresh blueberries or 2 Cups sliced peaches I Cup sifted cahe flour I teaspoon baking powder 1/8 teaspoon salt 3 eggs, separated I 'Cup granulated.sugar 1/2 Cup mi/fe Melt butter in Irage baking pan Spread brown sugar evenly in pan and arrange peaches or blueberries on sugar. Sift flour, baking powder, and salt together. Beat egg yolks until light, adding sugar gradually Fold in stiffly beaten egg whites. Pour batter over fruit Bake in moderate oven (375°) for 30-35 minutes Turn upside down on cake plate. Serve with whipped cream if desired
