Two of the dogs that were scheduled to comg ete were killed in accidents. everal others had litters and other dogs were considered too young for this kind of competition. One of the' highlights ofthe fail is the selection of the 4-H Queen. This year’s queen is Missy Rea of West Cape May and she will turn over her crown to the new tpleen at the pageant to be held at 9 p.m. Saturday on the outdoor stage of the fair grounds. ty number 40. Involved pre approximately 700 children between the ages of 7 and 19 and 83 leaders. The 4-H movement originally began as a farm oriented program, but it has since expanded to many other areas. While the clubs have maintained their agriculture interests, there are not 50 projects available to the youth of the county. Among them are photography, home improvement, karate and model airplanes. Miss Jesuncosky points out that there is always a need for volunteer leaders. Persons wishing to pass the benefit of their skills to others are asked to contact her at the county extension office, of which the 4-H program is a part, at 465-5115. She also invites the public to attend the fair.
"This is a great opportunity for the public to see what a greal job the 4-H leaders and members are
doing here in Cape May County,’ she said. “The 4-H Fair is an exciting and fun activity and we wanf to share it with everyone in Cape May County.” Activiti»s begin at 8:30 a.m. each day with the horse show and run into the night. on the cover
