COURT HOUSE - John 0. Salvesen. County Director of Transportation, has been appointed Assistant Director of the Governor's Office of Management. Sen James R. Hurley (Rl Cape May/ Cumberland announced "This is the highest appointment to the Kean Administration for any Cape May County resident to date.” Hurley explained, "and the job is concerned with the overall improvement of state government in all 20 major departments. Boro Stages Crackdown AVALON — Borough Police are enforcing ordinances with regard to dogs on the beach, walkers on the dunes and unlicensed catamarans Many warnings have already been issued to violators of borough ordinances and now summons are being issued. "LAST WEEK a fummons was issued to an individual for walking on the dunes and to seven $ catamarans that were unlicensed," commented Borough Administrator Andrew Bednarek. "The borough takes pride in the beauty of its dunes and beaches and we will not tolerate having them damaged or defaced." Chairmen COURT HOUSE - Philip Matalucci was elected this past week to his second successive term as Chairman of the State Republican ' County Chairmen’s Association. Matalucci, County Republican Chairman, was elected* to head the statewide group of 21 GOP chairmen by unanimous vote. The annual meeting was held in Bordentown. "I feel it is a great honor to be chosen a second year for this post, especially during our Republican Governor Tom Kean’s term of , office," said Matalucci.
