Art Classes Scheduled

MIDDLE TWP. - Workshops in sculpture and watercolor will be conducted at the Wetlands Institute on Stone Harbor Blvd. this summer. John 'Giannotti, an associate professor at Rutgers University, will instruct beginners and seasoned artists the week of Aug. 1. He will also supervise a children's sculpture class. Bill Welch, Philadelphia and Cape May water colorist. will hold a workshop

for beginners and intermediates Aug. 1-6. Both Giannotti and Welch will be present in the lecture hall for an orientation session the evening of Sunday v Aug. 1 Joe Shepler, acrylic pain•ting, and Giannotti, calligraphy, will conduct workshops 'Aug 15-20. library Balcony Planned

CAPE MAY - Plans for construction of a second floor balcony that will provide space for 21,000 more books were announced for the new City Library today by library director Emma Elwell. The balcony will provide 11 more shelf sections and will increase the book space from 26,000 volumes to 47,000, Mrs. Elwell said. The library recently was moved from the basement of City Hall to the former New Jersey Bell building at the corner of Ocean and Hughes Sts. The construction will begin upon completion of the library’s $150,000 fund drive which began recently under the chairmanship of retired Cape May

This year, students from New Jersey came to Cape May to study modern dance technique and choreography, with the final concert a culmination of the month’s study.
