porch, part of which is used as an office by Mrs. Salasin. From it she sees the Wildwood Crest police department diagonally across the street. "I feel a little more secure knowing that the police are across the street,” Mrs. Salasin said with a smile. One of the highlights of the house is the spacious country kitchen which has a preparation area on one side, a sink directly in the middle and an eating area on the opposite side. The kitchen is next to a recreation room, some 17 feet wide and 27 feet long. That ground level room leads directly to the yard which features a play area built by Dr. Salasin. “With the help of wife and children,” Mrs. Salasin quickly adds, "You need the slaves, of course." > THE HOME MADE play area includes facilities for climbing, swinging and a balance beam. The family effort took about a week and a half to complete.

Upstairs are the five bedrooms. Two of them are included in an area that was destroyed in a fire five years ago. It was then used as an office and guest room and was converted after the blaze. Throughout the house is evidence of the artistic nature of the Salasin family. Mrs. Salasin has tastefully brightened the home with decorations of green plants and silk flowers. She said she prefers fresh flowers, but they die so quickly, she regrets. She also is involved in refinishing the furniture. In addition to his cart>entry, her husband is an artist and a pitcher-first baseman for a softball team. They are rabid Phillies fans and moved into their house on the same day in October of 1980 that the Philadelphia team won the World Series. Their other daughters include Robin Lynn, 15; Michelle, 12; Stephanie, nine; Bonnie, three, and Laureh, two.
