State OKs $2.7 Million For MUA

"We are very pleased to hear the good news," Marinakis remarked "First, because it is a state grant which supplements previous funding received from the federal govern ment and second, since we had not counted on these additional funds, we can now factor them into our

future rate projections as soon as we receive notice." FOUR SEPARATE grants comprise the $2.7 million, according to Marinakis. One grant for $1.5 million will aid the construction of the Cape May Region project now underway. The funds represent 8 percent of the eligible costs and will be used for the construction of the regional treatment plant, force mains and pumping stations. This
