Winners of Golden Anniv. Baby Parade
CAPE MAY-The city’s 50th parade marched along Beach Dr. last Saturday under sunny skies, led by grand marshall Carlyle Dennis and his escort L.J. Inderwies. After being rained out'on Friday, nearly all of tfte participants returned to vie for the 21 awards. A record 38 babies were entered in the Pretty Baby Division helping to make the 50th parade the largest yet.
Aside from the seven divisions, other attractions included Cape May’s 50th Queen Maysea, Lauren Lee Oreo and her court; p^st Queen Mayseas led by Sally Lou Ludlam, the first Queen Maysea; Miss Cape May County Darlene* Dgeley, Little Miss Stone Harbor Meghan Brennan; Sidney Weeks and Sharon Jordan, recent players in Annie, and Mid-Atlantic Center for the Arts' Victorian ladies.
Queens Maysea II to “L”
CAPE MAY - Lauren Lee Oreo, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Albert Genovese of Seashore Rd. wa.s crowned Qween L. Wednesday night in convention hall, during an event attended by many of her predecessors. Lauren Lee was selected as the 1982 queen and was attended by a court including; Tina Marie Schwartz, Sharon Joy Christman. Mellissa Anne Barber, Meredith Markley, Katrina Ann Seeman, Maryellen Markley, Pierina Muscatella, Kelli Leigh McCullough and Tracey Riper. Also included as members of the court were Melisanne Douglass and Bethany Shey O’Neal as flower girls, and Evan Arthur Mediuch as page boy. THIS YEAR’S coronation was chaired by Mitzi Blomkvest who coordinated not only the coronation ceremonies but also planning for the reunion of the many visiting queens. Providing entertainment for Queen MaVsea L and her Court was the Mini Company '82 and '83 of the Joanne Reagan Dance Studio. IN TRIBUTE to the many girls who reigned as Queen Maysea over the
years, a special luncheon was given in their honor at the Marquis de Lafayette and special recognition at the evening coronation. Included among the past queens were Cindy McCar thy.
