14 Students Win Honors

COURT HOUSE - Eleven County Vocational School students of the^ Dental Assistant, Medical' Assistant, and Practical Nursing programs attended the Sth Annual Boro Awards 2 Contracts AVALON — During a special meeting of the Borough Council, a contract was awarded to TriCounty Equipment for a 1982 Skid Sheer loader. This will be used for clearing the paths through the dunes to the beach, as well ’fcs other areas where this size loader is most appropriate. At the same meeting, the contract was signed for delivery of Lifepak 5 (cardioscipe, recorder, defibrillator) for use by the Police and Rescue Squads.

Bakeoff Winners

OCEAN CITY - Joyce Lai^abee, a summer resident from Philadelphia, was awarded "best of show" honors in the Arts Center's Second Annual Bake-Off and Sale In the Solarium of the Music Pier. For her pumpkin cheesecake creation, Larrabee received a five piece starter set of pots from the Kitchen Connection. Conducted as a fundraiser for the Arts Center, the contest attracted 44 entrants and a total of 82 baked goods. Cash and merchandise prizes were awarded to the first and second pla£e winners in each category, and the 1st, 2nd, 3rd and honorable mention entries in all categories received ribbons. FOLLOWING THE awards ceremony, a benefit sale of all the contest items and several donated ones was held. Becky Asher, Bake Off committee chairperson, termed the sale very successful, and indicated that the committee would soon begin putting together a cookbook containing all of this year’s recipes. *
