Highway Push ...WILDWOOD t Assemblyman Guy Muziani is reportedly going to push for state Transportationtommissioner John Sheridan to appVve the state hand over to the Parkway Authority portions of state highway now linking two parts of the Garden State*Parkway in Middle Township. According to reports, the request for change in ownership has come from Wildwood City Commissioner Wilber Ostrander who is upset that Jhe state still refuses to cut grass along suite highways. the highway in question is a four-mile stretch that the Parkway Authority refused to deal with when the Parkway was built in the 1950’s because of the numerous cross streets. An agreement was made with the state that the Parkway would be run all the way to Cape May as long as the State Department of Transportation would take over the four-mile stretch in Middle Township. . Reportedly, Ostrander has said if the state refuses to turn over the four mile stretch of roadway the freeholders should put up a 10-c6nt toll plaza and use the revenue collected to take care of the weed and littqr problem. ,

A AAA A Sewage Demand MIDDLE TWP —Developers of. a propos ed 337-acre campground here will have to include a small sewage treatment plant in their project. The plant, along with the requirement that drainage ditches be regraded, is part of the state’s requirements before it will grant a Coastal Area Facilities Review Act permit for the 1,393 unit facility to be built near Goshen-Swainton Rd. near Dennisville Rd. According to reports, the state requirements were outlined in a preliminary report issued at last week’s CAFRA hearing. The campground, being developed by Tozour-Kerr builders, has been described by County Planning Director Elwood Jarmer as the ‘‘largest single recreational hbusing project conceived to date” in Cape May County. The project is being opposed by local conservationists, and Jarmer is reportedly Ancerned’about the project’s effect on supplies of.available drinking water.
