Kahn announced that the next phase of the library fubd drive occurred between Sept. 11 and'Sept. 18 with a door to door program throughout the city in < order to reach everyone who has not responded to the mail solicifction and members of numerous community orgPlizations volunteered to aid in the door to door program. THE FUND drive chairman announced the .names of volunteers who have taken on the task of soliciting local business support. The group includes Rosemary Stumpo. Fredrick Kuhner, Ralph Ransom, Gerri Rallo, Jack Deserable. John Gilligen, Herbert Hensinger. James Keltie, Max Kurland, Alma Jowetf, Robert Cunningham and Helen Riley. Kahn also announced that volunteers were picking up the donation canisters which had been placed in local business establishments. ‘‘Unfortunately,” Kahn said, “one can was picked up by someone other than a volunteer and the can was broken into by the two youths responsible. The can was recovered with a few dollars in change still inside, but the can had been full when stolen." • Kahn noted that the names of the* youths

responsible are known. "I hope they have the good sense to return the money which was donated to the library fund drive, or at least that remaining portion which they have not spent on themselves." he concluded Volunteers involved in the door program will have special fund drive envelopes and receipts for the use of the donors according to Kahn.
