The Capers and Hennelly House have won awards for their unique combination of Victorian architecture and interior designs, Bailey said. "Both have received awards for their use of Victorian style architecture and interior designs and are the finest examples of modem 20th century living conveniences incorporated into the Victorian atmosphere and architecture that is Cape May.” Centennial Winds Up SEA ISLE CITY - The Centennial Committee wound up its activities recently with a final dinner meeting at The Deauville Inn. Mayor Dominic C. Raffa, Commissioners J. Alan Gaasert and William H. VanArtsdalen Jr. thanked the committee for its efforts on behalf of the City. cjanseRt praised the committee's work, noting that while other shore resorts were complaining of a lack of tourists, Sea Isle City did not have that problem, thanks in part, to the many events sponsored and run by the committee. "The Centennial Committee was composed of a small, but dedicated group of residents, volunteers, wtlhout whom none of our activities would have been possible,” Dick Aliiger, chairman of the committee, said. "Two of our achievements of which we are most proud were the publishing of the Centennial History Volume and the establishment of the City Historicfil Museum and Society." PRIOR TO disbanding, the committee voted to donate all surplus funds (about $5,000), ail donated old photos, artifacts and other memorabilia to the new City Historical Museum The museum will be housed in a garage building behind City Hall, made available by the Board of Commissioners. Renovation work on the old building will begin in the near future, and planned completion is by the opening of the 1983 summer season. City Historian Harriet Reardon has been named curator of the new museum by the Board of Commissioners.
