WILDWOOD - Now in their fourth week of the new league season. Wildwood Bowl Keglers are already having a record-scoring- year, averaging in fexcess of 75 200-plus games each week. Congratulations this week go to Ray Mooney of North Cape May who bowled a 740 series, with a high game of 279 — the current house record. On the distaff scene. Pat Womack is having a banner year, with several 200 games so far, and a 625 series for the ladies house high. Marge Russell presented the Coast Guard . WILDWOOD - John Malinowski of Wildwood and Tom Frederick of Cape May finished first respectively in the Two Mile Fun Run and the 6.2 Mile Run at the Indian Summer Run sponsored by the Greater Wildwood Chamber of Commerce on the Wildwoods’ beach and boardwalk. The event attracted running enthusiasts from South Jersey, Maryland and Pennsylvania. Malinowski led the field in his event with a time of 10:45, followed by Thomas Birchal! of North Cape May and Tom Hulme of Atlantic City, Joe McCormick, event chairman, announced. IN THE 6.2 Mile Racetn the 19 and under category, Tom Dever of ScullVille took first, BirchaU and James Rieser of Avalon came in second and third. Frederick held the winning time of 35:45 for the entire race as well as the 20-29 age group. Othere in that group were Jim Colubiale of North Cape May and Ralph Johnson of Avalon. Anne Marie Rodrigues placed first for the women. In the 30-39 group Bill Moreland of Ocean City placed first with Michael Naples of Sea Isle City and Robert Gallagher of North Wildwood following. For the women, Lois Cashell of Maryland placed first. In the final category. 40 and over, was won by Patrick McCabe of Cedarville, Robert Metz of Cape May CoGrt House and Joan Bradley of North Wildwood.
Half Marathon. Women's 5000 OCEAN CITY - The eighth annual Fenton Carey Half Marathon and fifth annual Woman’s 5000 Meter Boardwalk Run here will he held Saturday, Oct. 23, rain or shine. The women’s run starts at 9:30 a.m., the half marathon at 10:30 a.m. Pre-registration closes"^Oct. 15. Olympic style . medals will be awarded to the first three finishers in each of the age groups.
