OCEAN CITY - The city’s ••October's Twice As Nice" celebration will con elude with .a flurry ' of special events ranging from d half marathon to a parade and Halloween da new/ ApplfcximaJely 1,000 runners ore expected at the Fenton Carey Half Marathon" Saturday, Oct. 23. The race begins 10:30 a m. at the Music Pier, Boardwalk and Moorlyn Terr. It is preceded by a 5.000 meter women's run at 9 a.m. y THE CITY’S ANNUAL Halloween parade, sponsored by the Exchange Club, will be 7:30 p.m. Thursday. Oct. 28. hundreds of youngsters will compete in costume. Musical groups and baton twirlers will be featured in the event, to be led by the Ocean City High School Band. Highlight of the parade is the annual appearance of the "Mystery Marcher", Usually a prominent Ocean City resident, the Marcher walks the parade route and spectators attempt to guess his or her identity. ALL GUESSES are recorded on cards. Correct entries are placed in a hat.. The final dinner receives a savings,-t^nd. The parade begins ait 6th and Asbury Ave. artq concludes at 10th and Aswy. Bleachers are set up along the route. A Halloween dance and sing-along with Bill Bruestie and the Sunshine Boys is set for 8 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 30. at the Pier.
