Middle Township picked itself a toughie in entertaining Penn Charter, Philadelphia's number one ranked high school team. The unbeaten Quakers won, 1!M), and were paced by Tailback Ed Mala'ndro who rushed for 161 yards on 20 carries and scored three touchdowns, one of them a 91 yarder. . The Panthers' lone score came on Clayton Palmer’s 15 yeard run in the second half. Another Middle Township drive short when Palmer fumbled on Penn Charter’s one yard line in the second period. A third Panthers’ drive at the end of the game also was thwarted, ’b The contest was an independent one and Middle Township resumes pla^ in the Cape Atlantic League on Saturday at 1:30 at Pleasantvillc Middle Township currently holds a share of first place in its division. Wildwood gave Pleasantville a tough time, but still lost, 20-14. Greg Cardaci scored twice for Wildwood on runs of 15 and 17 yards.
