Concert A Family Reunion

HUNTINGDON/Pa. - Cortcfrt pianist Peter Orth, son of Robert and Doris Moore of East 13th St, "Avalon, appeared in copcert in Juniata College's - O|lor Auditorium Oct. 19, performing pieces by Schumann. Debussy. Liszt t and Shostakovich. Orth's appearance at Juniata Was part of the college s I9ft2 83 Artist Scries, and had a special meaning for one Juniata student, sophomore David Moore. Orth's younger brother ' A GHADI'ATE of the Juilliard. School of'Music, Orth has performed in New York s Alice Tully Hall and

Carnegie Hail, and with the Chicago Symphony-and Philadelphia Orchestra. In 1979, Orth won fiVst prize at the Maumburg) International Piano Competition. Orth currently resides in

Pitney, Vt. . •

Following a recent concert,, a Los Angeles Times review stated, “Orth shows himself a mainstream musician of kaleidoscopic resources and strong per-

sonal charm.''

Present in the audience for the Juniata concert, in addition to his brothpr, was Orth's mother, and his grandmother, Mrs. Mary .Schumann of Collingswood..
