NORTH CAPE MAY The Cape May Kiwanis Club has honored Petty Officer Charles Lawson of North Cape May as the Coast Guard Person of the Year. Lawson is a member of the Aids to Navigation Team (ANT) which is aU tached to the buoy tender, Hornbeam. The 13-member group is responsible for 725 smaller aids in the Delaware Bay and the Inter Coastal Waterways. . THE 10- year veteran of The Coast Guard was honored on recommendation of his commanding officer, Lt. Commander A.J. Hindle, captain of the Hornbeam, who said Lawson has ‘‘proven especially Worthy.” He stated that Lawson has spent many hours upgrading the admvnistrative records of ANT HORNBEAM, has recovered and rebuilt the Mispillion River North Jetty Light, which was destroyed by ice, enabling . the Delaware Launch Service y and commercial fishermen to travel the river safely, and has recently completed reworking every light and day beacon, in Hereford,

"His skill, efficiency and knowledge of his rating are first rate. He is cooperative and willing to work extra hours to accomplish a goal.
