SOMERS. POINT - The South Jersey Regional Theatre will present the musical revue Tintypes at the Gateway Playhouse here Dec. 1 to Dec. 19. Tintypes is the sparkling musical revue of America from the gaslight to ragtime eras. Filled with songs, it features such composers as George M. Cohan. John Philip Sousa. Scott Joplin, and Victor Herbert. Combining music, limited dialogue, silent movie-type scenes, sets and costumtjs, the.production comments on American history between

1880 and 1917.

Leading elf the top-notch cast is M. IWnne Wieneke who will play Anna Held, Florenz Ziegfeld’s wife. Ms. Wieneke4vas Laurey in the recent Broadway revival of Oklahoma She also appeared in The Merry Widow with Robe/ta Peters, and in Hammerstein Night with Helen Hayes, Dick Cavett and Stephen Sondheim. Martha Danielle, who plays Emma Goldman, has six Broadway credits to her name including Rex, On The Town,. Showboat and South Pacific. She was also in the National Company and television production of Words And Music with

Sammy Cahn.

Ralph Braun has appeared on Broadway in Copper/ield and Irene and will play T.R. (Teddy Roosevelt) in Tintypes. Mr. Braun was also a cast niember of The Music Man with Dick Van Dyke and 'Colette in the preBroadway production with

Diana Rigg. ,

Dabriah Chapman, cast as Susannah s appeared as a singer on aiixty Minutes segment alfnit coniposer Eubie Blake As. Chapman has also aj^eared as a principal singer, with the New Orleans Opera as well as with the Ddhce Theaterof Harlem. ^

Alumni Assn. I Scholarship SEA ISLE CITY - The Rutgers-Camden College of Arts and Sciences Alumni Assn, has awarded city resident Eileen R. Koorcman a scholarship for the 1982-83 academic year. • . Koorcman, a graduate of Glen Rock High School, previously attended Bergen Community College and the University of North Carolina. Currently she is a junior at Rutgers Camden campus, majoring in business administration.

Larry Francer, who will play Charlie, has extensive credits in musical comedy. Most recently he appeared in productions of Fiddler On The Roo/with Paul Lipson, Pirates Of Penzance

and Damon’s Song.

Commenting on his Tintypes cast, *SJRT Executive/Artistic director Paul Aiken said, “I believe this is the strongest musical cast we’ve ever had. I think our audiences

are in for a real treat.’’ Also, for the first time, a casino is participating in co-producing a SJRT show. Tintypes is being produced in cooperation with Golden Nugget Hotel Casino, and according to Aiken SJRT is hoping the casino’s generosity and enthusiasm will stimulate other casinos to help their group’s nonprofit arts venture.
