Swedish Yule Open House

COURTHOUSE - "God Jul” or Merry Christmas in Swedish from the County Museum! The museum, in the John Holmes House, is sponsoring Christmas in Sweden at its Open House 2-5 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 12. Eva Johansson, an exchange student from Stockholm, Sweden, will demonstrate how to make, paper ornaments for the tree and tell about her country and its customs. TWO SPECIAL winter exhibits have been set up. Dresses, coats and fur muffs 1 will be on display throughout the house. The'kc beautiful winter garments date from the 1860's to the'1920’s. Also on display will be several pairs of antique ice skates. Some of these melalskates have unusual blades. Hot spiced punch, pepparkakor or^ingcr cookies, cardamom cake, and spritz will be a few of

Society Needs Home

SEA ISLE CITY - The City Historical Society, which grew out of this year’s centennial celebration, is looking for a home. Specifically, the society needs a place for display and storage of the pictures, artifacts and memorabilia collected for the dentenniai. WANTED IS an old hous$ or a storefront location for at least a two-year lease with renewal options until a permanent home can be found. The society is setting up a non-profit corporation, in cooperation with the city, establishing an open public membership, a board of trustees and elected officers to operate a museum. Anyone having such a location is asked to contact Richard C. Alliger, public relations director, at City Hall.
