FRED’S TAVERN WHERE GOOD FRIENDS MEET 314-96th Street STONE HARBOR In The Lounge FRIDAY & SATURDAY JANUARY 7 & 8 LOOKER FRIDAY & SATURDAY JANUARY 14 & 15 TRIPLUM

DID YOU HAVE A GOOD NEW .YEAR'S? Did you sing Auld Lang Syne until the wee hours? Did you make a list of ^e8olution.s' , And. here’s another question for you — how many times so far in 1983 have you written out checks using last year? It’s okay ■ we forgive you. (We’ve been doittg it tool) Tomorrow, the 6th, marks the Epiphany or Twelfth-day. This day is called ‘Epiphany,’ which means ‘showing forth’ in Greek, because it is the day Jesus showed himself to the Magi, And it is called ‘Twelfth-day’ because It is the twelfth day after Christmas Christmas trees are taken down, and the holiday season is ended. There are folks though who will keep the trees around awhile longer, who figure it was a lot of work to put them up so why not keep them up and enjoy. The weather may start to divebomb now For the next few weeks we arc quite likely to be held in winter's grip, even though the days are getting longer. You’ve heard the old saying, “When the days begin to lengthen, then the cold begins to strengthen " Our shortest day of the year is well past now, but our coldest days often come in February — more than a month later This is because the ocean has absorbed so much heat during the summer that it is still warming the air over it well into the winter, and when this air blows over the land it warms it, too. But. by the time February has arrived the ocean's stored heal has been given up and we are not warmed by ii any longer. Now, onto some warming thoughts of things to do h^Ieabouts this week: PILOT HOUSE—WARMING. The huge fireplace at the Pilot House, 142 Decatur Street, Cape May is just the spot to enjoy during luncheons and dinners at this popular downtown restaurant-tavern. • There are always plenty of lunch and dinner specials, and the food provides a comforting reprise from the outdoor chill The crowd is a happy one, no matter what the time of day or night. You'll enjoy the conversation, the laughter and the friendliness of the regulars as well as the stoppers-in down for the weekend or out for a drive. Package goods too and free delivery. RUSSO'S—Lots of Specials We always like the generous and tasty food served at Russo's Restaurant & Cocktails no matter what the year Located at 4415 Park Blvd . Wildwood, this easily reached location is probably one of the best places around to enjoy great Italian food The weekly specials are served Monday through Fri day, and include salad, vegetable, bread and butter coffee or tea. for a surprisingly modest cost You’ll love the relaxed atmosphere and the quality service Dinners are served from 5 to 9, Friday and Saturday 5 to 9:30 p.m HENNY S-FOR WINTER DINING. Henny’s has been in the business of serving fine food year round for many a year, and the expert^here know how to show customers a good limb Jxx’aled at 97th & Third Avenue, Stone Harbor, the daily luncheon open salad bar is worth the trip alone.
