NASA Expert Will Visit Cape May "School
Minot H. Parker, an aerospace education specialist with the NASA Goodard Space Flight Center’s Educational Services Project, will visit the Cape May City Elementary School Tuesday, Jan. 11. Purpose is to increase awareness and understanding of scientific research and technological development. Parker, a former teacher, will lecture' to the student body, staff, parents and community members in the school auditorium at 10 am. He’ll conduct simple experiments and use scale models of space hardware to explain tho basic scien-

Evening Classes Starting
WILDWOOD - Registrations for the city’s Evening Activities Program, a community service of the board of education, arc being ac cepted by mail or can be made in person 7:30-8:30 p.m. Thursday, Jan 6, and Monday. Jan 10 at the Wildwood High School cafeteria. The winter 1983 program will begin Thursday, Jan 13 and Monday. Jan. 17 SIXTY CLASSES are be ing offered on Monday and/or Thursday nights, including many continuing favorites and nine which are new this semester: Basic Sketching and Drawing, Computer Applications for Business, Home Catering and Entertaining, How to Help Your Child Overcome Reading/Spelling Problems, Jazz Dance, Jazz Improvisation, Looking Your Best, Sign Language-Inter mediate Level, and Stop Smoking Clinic. Seven other courses which were popular before but not offered last semester are returning to this Winter semester 's lineup: A New Start, Computer Programming Intermediate, Energy Conservation and Solar Workshop, German, Law for the Layman, Oriental Cooking. Spanish, and Woodworking for Beginners THE EVENING Ac tivities Program is still a testing center for those wishing to take the GED Test for a high school diploma. Classes to help students prepare for the GED test are offered at no charge Monday and Thursday nights.
Also free are English as a Second language classes for anyone whose native language is not English and Adult Basic Education classes for those who do not have a high school diploma and want to work on their basic skills in English and Math. SPECIAL offerings for this semester again include the First Wednesday Health Forum, now in/its fourth year. Lifeguard cer-
tification, and a Driver Education course, which includes both classroom instruction and behind-thff-wheel training. In addition, the Wildwood Police Department will sponsor a one-night session on How To Protect Yourself Against Crime 7 p.m Wednesday, Fct/ 2.
