AVALON - Avalon Borough Council has made the following 1983 professional services appointments: Accountant, Irwin Gallcr rehppointed; risk manager and insurance consultant, Richard B. Light reappointed. Dr. Rodolfo Garcia and
Robert W. Scott Jr. were appointed to one- and twoyear terms, respectively, on the Local Assistance Board. Muriel Barron was named to fill the unexpired term of Dr. Terry Venturi as alternate on the Avalon Zoning Board d.f Adjustment.
Local VICA Aid Needy
COURT HOUSE - The VICA (Vocational Industrial Clubs of America) chapters from the County Vocational Schools have been actively involved in community outreach pro ject^ during the holiday season. The Vo Tech VICA chapter and the Career Center VICA chapter have called upon the students and staff to sacrifice a little during this time so that the less fortunate dan also enjoy the holidays. THE ANNUAL toy and Food drive was the major project for December Each shop in the vocational school district was given a box for donations of nonperishable items such as
canned or boxed goods. Each staff member was asked to contribute toward the purchase of turkeys for the food baskets. Toys were also collected as part of the project THOSE ITEMS needing repair were sent to the ap propriatc shop. As a result of the combined efforts of the two VICA clubs, their advisors and the vocational schools’ population. 17 food baskets were distributed to local needy families. Caroling to shut-ins at local institutions was the final holiday project. VICA students sang at Crest Haven Nursing Home, the Lutheran Home, South Cape Nursing Home, and Cape May Care Center
Students Aid In MS Drive

The high school joined Philadelphia Eagle John Bunting, former Eagle Vince Papalc, the Philadelphia Liberty Belles. WCAIL FM. and dozens of other area fngh schools in raising funds for the National Multiple Sclerosis Society in the 1982 MS Penny a Vote competition The student council ran the school’s campaign to vote school representative Rich Rhmesmith to the 11 man MS All Star football team by collecting over 34,433 votes from the student body and local com munity Votes had cost one
cent each and the 11 players receiving the most votes made the all star
team.
RESULTS OF this year's competition were announced at the program’s touchdown awards party, Dec 18, at Veterans Staduim, Philadelphia. The MS Penny a Vote competition is an annual high school program of the National Multiple Sclerosis Scoiety. Proceeds ’of the local program benefit over 3,000 area MS patients served by the National Multiple Sclerosis Society’s Greater Delaware Valley Chapter.
