Swim Team Is Dunked

CAPE MAY - The City Swim Team made a good showing, but bowed to the Vineland YMCA team in a meet Sunday, Jan. 16. One of the hardest areas of competition for Cape is the relays. However, in this meet they came away with three 1st place ribbons. The relay team of Billy Pilczufc. Tim Snyder. Justin Aftanis and Eric Axelsson captured two 1st Place awards in the 200-yd. medley relay and 200-yd. freestyle relay. Kristy Brown. Christine Laskey, Shannon Hunter and Rachael Prestera won 1st in the 200-yd. freestyle relay. BIG WINNERS for Cape May were Becky Snyder with two 1st place awards in the 50-yd freestyle and 50-yd. butterfly; Chrissy Fitzpatric. two 2nd Place ribbons in the 100-yd feestyle and too yd backstroke She also took two 3rd Place awards in the breaststroke and butterfly SCOTT SOENS took 1st Place in the feestyle and butterfly Danielle Snyder took fst -in the 25 yd. feestyle and 3rd in the backstroke, Youth Volleyball Clinics Slated CAPE MAY - The City Civic Affairs Department is conducting Youth Volleyball Clinics for the next two weeks (4-6 pm., today, Jan. 26, and Feb. 2) at the Elementary School on Lafayette St. for youths 12 to 15.
