Ties Mark Hockey Play

CAPE MAY - Keltic’s tied the C-View Inn team in Junior hockey and were exuberant to have scored on the bigger C-View boys Mark DeCamillo scored both goals for Kelties. Karl Hughes and Tod Shoffler each had a goal for C-View. At the end of the first period, the Cape May Volunteer Fire Co. and the Dellas Stores team were tied 2-2, but in the second period the Fire Co held Dellas scoreless. \ Winning goals scored by Frank Rohrer and Ron Nelson to take the game 4-2.
IN SENIOR HOCKEY, the Senior Keltie's and CView Inn team also tied in a game that was scoreless until the final minutes of the third period Brian McKeon scored for Keltie's and Scott Brown made the goal for C-View to end in a 1- 1 tie. Another tie game was held between Dellas and Uie Cape May Volunteer Fire Co., Jim Vk and Brendan McBride scored for the Fire .Co. and Darren Hickock and Jim Hawthorne scored for Dellas, the game ended 2- 2.

The retiring president, Charlotte Asimos was honored with a plaque for her five years of service and for instituting the club, which originally skated out of Gillian's Winter Wonderland Rink in Ocean City, and now skates out of Ventnor City. Charlotte ir. one of the club’s pros, teaching lessons, organizing shows and exhibitions and travelling to competitions in support of the club and her students. Charlotte is a senioi* member of the Professional Skaters Guild of America. THE CLUB has three teaching pros and trains skaters frhm beginners into competitive stages. The club participates in one of the largest 1,5.1.A. competitions on the East Coast, Md in Lake Placid. N Y with the club holding an outstanding record of 20 medals. The latest lake Placid competition was in January and the following club members copipeted and brought back medals; Gfgdys Maxwell, Freestyle II; Brandy Ratigan. Alpha,; June Daniels, Beta; Michele Becker, Gold in
Freestyle 4 and fourth in Figures; Linda Foy, Gold in Freestyle II; Gwen Schuerer, fourth in Freestyle 3; Sonja Nelson. Gold in Beta; Steven Foy, Gold in Beta; Amy Foy, Bronze in Gamma; Natasha Penso. fourth in Freestyle 2. The club is now practicing for a skating show which will take place in early April.
